Making a visit to another PLANET can prove quite useful these days.  Today’s classrooms are filled with new and innovative technological devices but have you discovered the new kid on the block?  Promethean PLANET has made its debut and is receiving rave reviews from classroom instructors.  Easy delivery of instructions, interactive flip charts, and free teacher resources are just a few of the features enabling bright minds to think and enjoy the learning environment created through use of this interactive board.  A recent visit to a Promethean PLANET workshop at the GaETC Conference in Atlanta sparked an exciting interest into this new technology.

Two weeks after my introduction to the Promethean Interactive Board, I received one in my classroom.  To my amazement, I introduced a new unit on spreadsheet applications with only the basics instructions given in the workshop.  The delivery of instructions and application of spreadsheets was made easier for me and for the students.  Students were able to easily grasp the concepts and work at their own pace.  Fewer interruptions with questions were made during the delivery whereby enabling me to cover more materials.  Later, I attended several Promethean training workshops and was amazed at the many uses of the interactive board. 

Interactive Flipcharts have been an excellent tool to use in my computer classes.  Once the lessons have been created you can incorporate an array of other interactive resources to differentiate instruction and motivate the learner.  Students are also engaged in the learning process as they get the opportunity to manipulate the board.  Not only do I get to use my creativity in designing different flipcharts, but I also have access to flipcharts in my subject area that are created by other professionals.

What teacher would not enjoy receiving and sharing ideas and activities?   Promethean Planet has provided me with many hours of enlightening resources adaptable to my subject area and grade level.  I love being able to edit the flipchart lessons to accommodate my students and using the weblinks to access other educational websites.  There are many additional resources available through Promethean Planet and its great to know that the resources of this magnitude are only a click away.
